Ovir Pass & Tirich Mir Trek

The first part of trip is to Ovir Pass, this popular and easily accessible trek crosses a ridge-top pass along the southern flanks of mighty Tirich Mir, visiting friendly villages along the way. Crossing the Ovir Ann (4338m) is a short and popular trek that offers wonderful close-up views of the southern flanks of Tirich Mir massif. Afterwards we trek to Tirich Mir, the Hindu Kush’s highest peak, rises above a vast wilderness of glaciers and 20 other impressive 7000 m summits, making this a trek into the very centre of the high Hindu Kush. Tirich Valley, a long, western branch of the Turikho Valley, leads towards the base of the highest Hindu Kush peaks; Noshaq, Istor-o-Nal and Tirich Mir. The popular trek to Tirich Mir Base Camp traverses the lower Tirich Glacier. The trek is combined with a cultural exploration of Kalash Valley (Kafiristan). If time is not a problem then extension to trip upto Hunza Valley will make the trip just awesome.

Trekking in Hindukush is easy and comfortable even for beginners. However, some parts of difficult.  Most of the camping sites in Hindukush are grassy with clear spring water to drink and wash. People who like to experience the local communities along the trek these are the best option for them. There are no high mountains like Karakorum and Himalaya. The highest mountain of Hindu Kush region is Tirich Mir 7,879 m (the highest peak in Hindukush). However, there are numerous tiny and beautiful peaks and breath-taking landscape to enjoy the nature. This is the trek rarely people do it unlike any other trek in Pakistan. There is a lot explore in the Hindukush Range of Pakistan. We can plan a day hike to a month long trek with in the region. The most interesting highlights in Hindukush are blue sky lakes, waterfalls, rivers, lush green meadows and summer pastures where the local communities go with herds of animals during the summer. It provides a great opportunity to experience the local cultures and traditions while traveling in Hindukush.
