Pakistan’s mountain peaks and vibrant culture are more accessible than ever, but if you’re planning a trip this year, you might have noticed some changes on the official portals. As of January 1, 2026, the “Visa Prior to Arrival” (VPA) program—which offered free, fast-track visas to 126 nationalities—has been suspended.
Don’t worry! This doesn’t mean the doors are closed. It simply means we are returning to the Standard E-Visa system. To ensure your journey starts smoothly, we’ve compiled the most current information for our 2026 guests.
The “free and instant” VPA system has been replaced by the standard paid E-Visa. Travelers from most countries (including the UK, US, and EU) must now apply through the Pakistan Online Visa System (POVS).
